Researchers have confirmed the existence of a SECOND Earth located in the Proxima Centauri System. It is believed that the planet has oceans like Earth and can harbor alien life.
In the past, thousands of exoplanets have been discovered in the universe, but none of them is like Proxima B. Proxima B, as it has been baptized, has very promising characteristics: it is probably rocky, a little more massive than our own planet and found in the region around its star that would allow liquid water to exist on its surface.
They have discovered a planet located in the Proxima Centauri system, one of the closest stars to Earth that they believe houses liquid water and potentially alien life.
It is believed that the planet, called Proxima B, is about 1.3 times the size of our planet and has the ideal temperature on the surface for water to exist in a liquid state.
Proxima B is four light years away from Earth – more than 25 TRILLION MILES – which means that to be able to visit the planet in the near future, the future generation would have to devise a super-fast spacecraft that allows them to travel to the Next Centauri System with ease.
If the planet turns out to be “a SECOND Earth”, it could become one of the best options for future human colonization.
Researchers believe that the temperature on the planet’s surface could be between -90 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius.
According to the researchers, Proxima B may be the best opportunity we have found to find DIRECT evidence of the existence of Alien Lifeforms outside the solar system.
The planet that has already been called ‘a second Earth’ is located at an ideal distance from its host star for liquid water to exist, which means that life as we know it is very likely to exist.
Proxima B is the closest exoplanet we have discovered, and according to researchers, a mission to the planet to look for signs of life could be something achievable in our lives.
The distance from our planet to Proxima B may seem insurmountable, but in reality it is formidably shorter compared to other candidates for life on the host. This means that Proxima B could become the first target for future interstellar travel.
