Assuming we have not yet run into extraterrestrials and are still looking for our cosmic neighbors, our first encounter with aliens could be really scary.
So, if you imagine the aliens as small humanoid beings, with a long, huge head, almond shaped eyes, who have the strange obsession of “probing” the vagabonds of people, then you will be disappointed.
A new study entitled “Alien Minds”
Professor Susan Schneider of the University of Connecticut and the Institute of Advanced Studies at Princeton discusses a theory of what the first contact with extraterrestrial career robotics would look like: that extraterrestrial being a billion years old.
Yes, a robot that is so old that it is difficult to pant according to the Daily Galaxy.
Professor Schneider says that an alien AI could already be in the cosmos and probably in billions of years.
Schneider: “I do not believe that the most advanced alien civilizations are biological, the most sophisticated civilizations will be forms of post-biological intelligence, artificial intelligence or alien superintelligence.”
“Other civilizations may be much older than us, Earthlings are galactic babies,” he said. Dr. Schneider believed in the “older age of alien civilizations.”
In a report published by the Daily Galaxy
Professor Schneider said: “all lines of evidence converge in the conclusion that the maximum age of extraterrestrial intelligence would be billions of years, specifically ranges between 1.7 billion and 8 billion years.”
Climbing the machines would mean that life based on silicon could survive harsher and more dangerous conditions than carbon-based life forms, therefore, this means that your civilization could survive for much longer periods of time.
Dr. Schneider argues that there are many advantages to being silicon-based.
“It is easier, for example, to survive space travel, there is enormous computing power available and there are no physical limitations like the skull and a machine could, in principle, achieve super intelligence faster than a human being,” he said.
